In
a previous post, I wrote about the general benefits of pageantry. Lately, I
have been seeing the benefits directly manifest into my life. Pageantry has
helped me put myself out there via reaching out to photographers for photo shoots,
learning to market my writing to publications, learning how to market my
business, learning how to put on an elegant face of make-up, and learning how
to make a great first impression on a daily basis. Because of pageantry, I am
successfully becoming a better speaker which is helping me at my job at
Community Healthcare Network and in my guest speaking roles with my company
Nutritious Balance.
I
recently landed my first modeling gig and my speaking and writing careers are
beginning to take off. Pageantry has taught me how to put my best self out into
the world and to not fear what people will think of me. I want to be known as
someone who follows her heart and her dreams, regardless of the opinions of
others.
Having
a solid headshot doesn’t hurt either – that is after all the best way to make a
good first impression – inside and outside the pageant world.
It
takes seven seconds to form a good and lasting first impression. Pageantry is
teaching me how to make those seven seconds count. I am learning to achieve all
of my goals.
